U2 3D concert film to get cinema release

U2 have confirmed details of the release of their much-anticipated 3D concert film, 'U2 3D'.
The film, which is the first digital 3D, multi-camera, real-time production, will be shown at Cineworld, Movies at Dundrum and Movies at Swords - all in Dublin - from 22 February. It will also be screened at SGC Dungarvan.
Directed by Catherine Owens and Mark Pellington, the film was shot in Buenos Aires during the South American leg of the Irish band's 'Vertigo' world tour in 2006.
Nine digital 3D cameras were used to capture over 100 hours of 3D footage, which includes performances of U2 classics such as 'One', 'Sunday Bloody Sunday' and 'Pride (In the Name of Love)'.
Along with the 3D digital imagery, the film features 5.1 Surround Sound in a bid to give fans a cinematic experience that is as close as possible to seeing the band live.
'U2 3D' will receive its world premiere at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival on 19 January.

Lewis Forced To Dump Stinky Girlfriend

Sex And The City hunk Jason Lewis is refusing to name the beauty he dumped because she stank, prompting all his celebrity exes to check their personal hygiene. The model-turned-actor has dated Rosario Dawson and Jennifer Esposito - and he even had a brief fling with Jennifer Aniston but he's not revealing if one of those was the malodorous woman who left him with a bad smell. He says, "I remember thinking, 'Your arms stink, your breath stinks. Oh God, even your hair stinks.' "I asked a female friend, 'What do I do? Slip her acidophilus when I cook for her?'" Lewis admits he eventually gave up and dumped the girl.

Angelina Jolie's Huge Bump Still Dominating Cannes

Angelina Jolie once again stole the show at yesterday’s premiere of new Clint Eastwood drama Changeling at the Cannes Film Festival.
Dressed in a billowing fawn dress that made her baby bump look bigger that ever, the pregnant actress – accompanied by a very dapper Brad Pitt – literally put the host of stars (plus Phoebe Price) who showed up for the glittering occasion in the shade.
Angie is already winning rave reviews for her performance as a woman whose son is kidnapped in the drama.
The role also held a very personal significance for her.
She has revealed, "To me, she's very much like my mother. My mother was very passive in many ways and very, very sweet, but when it came to her children, she was a lion.
"So, in many ways, (my character) Christine reminded me of my mom, and it was a way to kind of revisit my mother after her passing and spend time with her."

The band known as Yearning was formed by Finnish youths Juhani Palomäki (vocals/guitar/keyboards), Tero Kalliomäki (guitars), and Toni Kostiainen (drums) in late 1994, and earlier went by the mention Flegeton, which was derived from Dante's Divine Comedy. Like the unpitying Scandinavian winters, the music heard on their demonstration, "Through the Desolate Lands," was cold, somber, and depressing, and after securing the services of interrogatively named freshwater bass participant Mr. Woodland (real name: Petri Salo), Yearning further developed their atmospheric firebrand of gothic drab metallic element with their arcsecond demo, "The Temple of Sagal."

The latter greatly impressed the folks at France's Holy Records, which afterward release the band's 1997 debut album, With Tragedies Adorned, and its 1999 followup, Plaintive Scenes. Both of these efforts bordered on progressive rock, so wide was their stylistic range and so high their ambitions, just Yearning silent managed to inculcate them with plenty of tonal pattern, black bile, and alloy. The same was honest of grandiloquent ensuing efforts, 2001's Frore Meadow and 2003's Evershade, during which Yearning endured a number of lineup changes, merely carried on anyway.

Michael Douglas to haunt his old Girlfriends

At the New York junket for his new movie 'The Spiderwick Chronicles', director Mark Waters revealed the cast of his upcoming romantic comedy 'The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past'.
The cast includes Matthew McConaughey, Jennifer Garner and Breckin Meyer, and Waters revealed that Michael Douglas is set to join the line-up.
Speaking about the 'Wall Street' actor's role in the film to Comingsoon.net Waters said: "(He'll be playing) the Marley character, the old ghost who's dead, Uncle Wayne. He's a '70s playboy...and he wears Bob Evans shades."
McConaughey replaced Ben Affleck, who was originally lined up to play the lead role.
Waters told Comingsoon.net what he thought that McConaughey brought to the table: "There's something great about Matthew. He has an aspect of him that he can get away with murder with women."
He continued: "He's the kind of guy where women are apologising to him when he breaks up with them, because he's so charming. It's always been such a delicious concept of taking a Christmas Carol and making a romantic comedy out of it."
In the film, McConaughey plays a womaniser who attends the wedding of his younger brother (Breckin Meyer) and bride (Lacey Chabert).
There, he's haunted by several old flames, including the bride's best friend (Jennifer Garner).
